
Stop Trying to Heat the Air in Your Bathroom
Most bathroom heaters are a waste of time. They try to warm up the air, but in a drafty changing area, that heat just vanishes the second a door opens. It’s frustrating. We do things differently. The nitty-gritty on the hardware
We stick with R7s or SK15 connectors. Why? Because they fit tight and they’re a breeze to swap out when it’s time for a new lamp. We also coat the quartz glass to kill that blinding glare and push more of the energy into the heat range where you actually want it. But here is the catch: power density. If you want that high-end, luxury hotel feel, you need a high-wattage tube. Just make sure your wiring can handle the initial surge, or you’ll be staring at a tripped breaker. Also, these things gethot. Like, really hot. Give the housing plenty of breathing room so you don’t warp your plastics or scorch your walls.
Getting it installed right
If you’re putting this in a bathroom, moisture is your enemy. The lamp can handle the heat, but the electrical terminals can’t handle the damp. Check your IP ratings carefully. My advice? Mount them overhead. It creates a “cone” of warmth. That way, the second you step into the zone, you’re warm. No shivering while you dry off. Just instant comfort.
