Exactly where your process needs it. Because the thermal mass is so low, the lamp heats up fast. And it cools down fast, too.
The Inside Story: Halogen, Quartz, and Solid Connections
Inside the quartz envelope, the halogen cycle keeps the filament clean. That stabilizes output and stretches the life way beyond a standard incandescent element. Quartz handles the thermal shock of rapid on/off cycling, and it passes shortwave infrared cleanly. We use R7s bi-pin connectors because they lock in fast and stay secure, even when the machine is vibrating. The ceramic base and terminals take the heat without fuss, and they keep contact resistance low—so you get solid, reliable connection, shift after shift.
Where They Shine: Tight Spaces, Quick Response
These tubes are made for jobs that need heat, fast, in tight quarters. Think plastic forming, sealing, spot heating—anywhere you need to hit temperature quickly and move on. The shortwave output dives in fast, and that quick response makes closed-loop control feel straightforward, not finicky. Now, with that much power packed in, you do need proper airflow and thermal management in the fixture. Get the cooling and mounting right, and you get predictable heat with an easy drop-in replacement when the lamp finally reaches end-of-life.
